Kawenniiosta Jock

Culture Director

My Story

Kawenniiosta Jock
Kanien’kehá:ka, People of the Flint | Wolf Clan
Creative Director, Skywomans Forever Farm

Kawenniiosta Jock is a proud Kanien’kehá:ka woman of the Wolf Clan from Orenhrekó:wa, Akwesasne. As the Creative Director of Skywomans Forever Farm, she leads an Indigenous-led initiative to rematriate ancestral lands in Schoharie Valley, NY through regenerative agriculture, Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), and advanced environmental remediation. Her work restores not only land and water but also cultural and food sovereignty—responding to generations of environmental injustice that have impacted her community.

Before co-founding Skywomans Forever Farm, Kawenniiosta served as Co-Executive Director of the Waterfall Unity Alliance, where she advanced Indigenous land return, environmental healing, and cross-cultural alliance-building.

With over a decade of frontline experience in community support, Kawenniiosta spent five years as a Youth Advocatewithin the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Social Services Division, where she supported at-risk youth, including those navigating the court system, foster care, and crisis intervention. She later co-developed and led the Traditional Support Program, which delivered culturally grounded, trauma-informed services to Indigenous families, survivors of domestic violence, and youth facing systemic challenges.

She holds multiple specialized certifications, including:

Facilitation Training (Ahkwesahsne Area Management Board, 2016)

Social Work Continuing Education Credits (National Association of Social Workers & NICWA, 2016)

Identifying and Assisting Trafficked Children (IOFA & NYS Office of Children and Family Services, 2014)

These trainings enhance her trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to advocacy and community healing.

Her work in both environmental justice and family support is rooted in restoring balance—not just to ecosystems, but to intergenerational wellbeing. Kawenniiosta integrates traditional healing practices with modern tools like phytoremediation, biochar, and microbial soil inoculation to revitalize contaminated lands while also revitalizing cultural identity.
